Aerospace

For as long as I can remember I've been obsessed with planes and rockets. Every time I ride on a plane or watch a rocket launch I can't help but marvel at the intricacy and complexity of such incredible machines. For me, it would be a dream come true to be granted the opportunity to work with the men and women that design such modern-day wonders.

Renewable Energy

With the steady increase in carbon emissions and the growing concern for the effect it has on our environment, renewable energy is undoubtedly going to play a major role in the future of society. The transition from fossil fuel based energy to renewables is one of the great engineering challenges of our time.

Transportation

Moving people and things is big business. The ability to do it efficiently, effectively, and economically is a major challenge. With continuous improvements on how we move things, the world of transportation is an intricate and interesting one.

New Age Nuclear Energy

The urgency to lower carbon emissions is ever growing. However, given current technology, we cannot rely entirely on renewable energy to replace fossil fuels. The need for reliable baseload power is inescapable. With the US nuclear reactor fleet rapidly approaching the age of retirement, it is up to engineers to produce a new generation of reactors. Whether it be nuclear fusion or new age fission I can't help but find nuclear energy interesting.
